Machikaneyama town

Machikaneyama town

The Toyonaka campus of Osaka University, where the Cybermedia Center Toyonaka Section belongs to, is located on a hill named "Machikane-yama" ("yama" means a mountain in Japanese. "cho" is often used in a name of a town). Machikane-yama is known as the spot where the fossil of the Machikane-wani alligator was excavated. The Machikane-wani is known as one of the largest crocodilian. It is really big and nearly a monster I thought when I saw it first. The picture of a skelton is available at the site of the The Museum of Osaka University
